University of Warwick Canoe Polo Club
University of Warwick Canoe Polo Club welcomes complete beginners to pool training at the Sports and Wellness Hub. It supplies the specialist playing kit, enters BUCS teams and hosts tournaments. The club remains separate from Warwick University Canoe Club, despite sharing a website and some social channels.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
No previous canoe polo experience is required. A current student must arrange the required Warwick Sport pass and Sports Federation membership before adding Canoe Polo membership. Associate applications for staff and eligible non-students go through a multi-stage approval process and may be declined.
- Junior paddlers
Warwick SU blocks its standard sports-club membership for anyone under 18. It offers an application process instead. The Polo page gives no junior acceptance, safeguarding or supervision details, so obtain a decision from the union and club first.
- Equipment
The club says it provides polo kayaks, paddles, spraydecks, helmets, buoyancy aids and balls. Participants need their own swimming kit, T-shirt and towel. Check the current session instructions before arriving.
- Accessibility
The Sports and Wellness Hub advertises a pool pod, an adjustable floor, gradient steps and inclusive changing options. It does not say whether a club session can support transfers into a polo boat. Tell the club what help you need before attending.
- Where the club paddles
Regular training is listed at the Sports and Wellness Hub swimming pool. The club page also mentions optional River Leam fitness sessions, but it does not confirm one arrival point there. Use the current training details rather than relying on the usual weekly timetable.
