Before you join
- Adult beginners
Choose the adult enquiry route to discuss recreational paddling, racing or paddleboarding. Beginners can register interest in a course before becoming members. Experienced paddlers are asked to discuss their ability and membership at a social paddle. Adult membership starts at 18. Peer paddles require competence on the water; a waiting-list entry does not confirm a course place.
- Junior paddlers
Junior membership is listed for ages 7-17, with a parent required to join as a social member. This is not an admission age for every section. Racing welcomes children from eight. Recreational pages aim at 10+ with flexibility, while the linked interest listing says 11+. Ask which group can accept your child. A recreational newcomer may try up to four sessions before joining.
- Equipment
Regular use of club boats is charged separately from the base adult, junior or associate membership. Personal boat storage is another extra and depends on space. Do not assume membership includes every item of equipment or unrestricted borrowing. Ask the relevant coach about supplied kit for a beginner course, junior trial or paracanoe session. Check the personal clothing needed for that activity.
- Accessibility
The club describes a paracanoe programme for recreational and racing participation, including coaching for people with neurological conditions, spinal injuries and amputations. Contact the club about individual support before arranging a visit. General references to accessible facilities do not establish a particular hoist, transfer method, personal-care service or suitability for every participant.
- Where the club paddles
The clubhouse is on the north bank of the River Leam, just off Adelaide Road in Royal Leamington Spa, CV32 5AH. The owner's contact page supplies the mapped coordinates. This map shows the clubhouse area, not an approved parking space or launch entrance. Club trips use other waters. Confirm meeting arrangements for your section and session.
