Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland
Kyle Kayak Club
Kyle Kayak Club paddles rivers, lochs and the coast from its Ayr base. Members can borrow boats and join trips, including introductions to moving water. The club describes winter practice at the Citadel pool. Ask about the next session before travelling, especially while the pool's changing facilities are being refurbished.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
Contact the club to discuss membership or arrange a come-and-try session. Beginners do not need previous paddling experience. Members can join trips and training, including an introduction to moving water. The joining and activity pages quote different adult fees, so confirm current membership and session charges directly.
- Junior paddlers
An under-18 membership category is listed, but a general junior starting age and parental attendance rule are not confirmed. The owner's July 2026 course flyer covered ages 10-18. That course is past and the page says it is full. Its age bands do not establish the rules for ordinary club sessions.
- Equipment
Membership includes access to club boats, paddles and kit. The activity page describes a sea-kayak fleet and equipment supplied for pool practice, with participants bringing swimming gear. Outdoor clothing, suitable sizes and availability depend on the trip. Arrange these with the club. The separate Club Kit page sells clothing rather than explaining boat hire.
- Accessibility
The Citadel operator reports changing-village refurbishment and temporary arrangements using dry changing and poolside cubicles. Its general centre page describes accessible changing, but that does not confirm which facilities are usable during the works. Ask the club and pool about current changing, transfers and individual support. Adapted club paddling is not verified.
- Where the club paddles
The club names the Citadel in Ayr for winter pool practice, normally between late September and late March. The operator gives South Harbour Street, KA7 1JB. Confirm the club's next date and arrival instructions; a public swimming timetable does not confirm a private club booking. River and sea trips meet elsewhere. The map shows the leisure-centre area, not an entrance.
