Before you join
- Adult beginners
No previous paddling experience is required. Send a membership enquiry and wait for the secretary to arrange a suitable first session. You need to sign up before paddling. The club recommends a pool introduction for people unsure about getting into a boat, so do not arrive expecting a drop-in river session.
- Junior paddlers
Individual membership starts at 11. Family membership has no stated age floor, but an under-11 must have a competent paddling parent on the water for every activity. Confirm the child's needs and the next suitable session through the membership secretary.
- Equipment
Members may hire club boats and equipment for tasters, courses and trips. Clothing is not included. Ask an instructor about suitable warm kit and footwear for the season. The club expects experienced members to consider buying their own equipment over time.
- Accessibility
Not confirmed in the sources checked. Ask the club directly.
- Where the club paddles
The club has no clubhouse. Its main pattern is Monday pool evenings from September to April and Thursday river evenings from May to August, alongside specialist groups and trips. Book first to receive the actual location and arrival details. A generic Ipswich map is not a verified club entrance.
