Before you join
- Adult beginners
You must be at least 18 to participate in club activities. Training requires membership and advance payment. Contact the training officer for a future course date; the pre-season April weekend is already past. For ordinary trips, discuss the grading and your skills with the organiser. These trips generally provide no instructor or guide.
- Junior paddlers
Under the December 2025 constitution, nobody below 18 may take part in club-organised activities. The document explicitly rules out a junior section.
- Equipment
Training includes a kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid, spraydeck and coaching. A limited selection of wetsuits and cagoules is available. Member boat hire must be arranged with the trip organiser or equipment officer. Committee approval is required for non-member hire. Confirm availability and suitable clothing before your session.
- Accessibility
Not confirmed in the sources checked. Ask the club directly.
- Where the club paddles
Evening paddles use different North East coastal locations. The club describes shared equipment sheds at Stonehaven Harbour and gives separate access notes for its regular paddling sites. Obtain the meeting point from the organiser. Equipment storage is not a single venue for every trip.
