Before you join
- Adult beginners
Beginners normally take a four-week course before progressing to an improver course. Annual membership is required for training. The linked WebCollect course page showed no upcoming events at review; ask Ibex when enrolment will reopen. Wednesday summer paddles require an improver course or similar experience. A beginner cannot simply arrive and join one.
- Junior paddlers
The website and course page describe a youth group for ages 12 to 17, with a swimming requirement of more than 50 metres. WebCollect's subscription introduction instead says junior membership is 11 to 16, while its product says under 18. Confirm the applicable age category, adult accompaniment and next youth-group date before paying.
- Equipment
Training includes kayaks, buoyancy aids, spray decks and paddles. Membership gives access to club equipment and the hut for club events. Youth instructions ask participants to bring suitable footwear, clothing, a towel and drinking water. The FAQ says private kayak storage is unavailable. Confirm the kit and clothing needed for your chosen activity.
- Accessibility
Not confirmed in the sources checked. Ask the club directly.
- Where the club paddles
The club describes its hut at Breakwater Hard beside Brixham's lifeboat station. The area map uses RNLI's verified station position, not a club entrance or a launch point. Neither that map nor the club's contact page establishes a parking right or an accessible waterside route. Ask Ibex for the meeting instructions for your course or paddle.
