Before you join
- Adult beginners
To try paddling, complete the club's registration form and wait for approval. The club then adds you to Spond to choose a session. A lake taster costs GBP 10 and a pool taster GBP 12. Book and pay before attending. The published 2026 lake season ended on 10 September; check the autumn and winter pool dates with the club.
- Junior paddlers
Horsham has an under-18 or full-time-student membership category and family membership. A parent or guardian must supply their details for a junior taster or membership application. Participants declare that they can swim and are confident around water. The checked pages do not set a minimum age, so confirm suitability before registering a child.
- Equipment
Annual membership covers use of kayaks, sit-on-top kayaks, open canoes and SUP boards. Tasters include boats, paddles, buoyancy aids and spray decks. Lake paddlers need suitable clothing, footwear and a towel. The pool rules require swimwear and a T-shirt; check the club's kit instructions for your booking.
- Accessibility
The club reports designated disabled parking, toilets and changing rooms. It says sessions and craft can be adapted where possible, including larger-cockpit kayaks and sit-on-top boats. These statements do not establish an accessible launch or a particular transfer service. Discuss your needs before booking.
- Where the club paddles
Southwater Country Park is the summer lake base. Pool practice takes place at K2 Leisure Centre, Pease Pottage Hill, Crawley. Trips use other waterways. The club's calendar includes placeholders as well as sessions, so a listed item alone is not a confirmed meeting point or a reserved place.
