Hinckley Canoe Club

Hinckley Canoe Club meets at Stanton Lakes on Thursday evenings from April to September. Beginners can pre-book kayak, canoe or paddleboard tasters, while members also join coached sessions, river trips and winter pool practice.

Adult beginners: Thursday lake sessions run from 18:00 between April and September. The official page says tasters must be pre-booked and offers free trial membership for three weeks, with taster and Discover sessions priced at GBP 8. Junior paddlers: Under-16s must have a parent or guardian present throughout the session. For a child under eight, the responsible adult must also be on the water. The current annual fee page lists junior membership at GBP 20 for people aged up to 17.
Equipment: The club supplies a buoyancy aid and provides helmets for juniors. Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are available, although a particular craft cannot be guaranteed. Footwear is compulsory. There is a shared toilet block but no club changing room.
