Hereford Kayak Club

Hereford Kayak Club trains on the River Wye from Hereford Rowing Club. It offers coached tasters, recreational paddling, marathon and sprint racing, with a shared kayak fleet and members aged from 11 to over 70.

Before you join

Adult beginners: Complete beginners can email the club to arrange a paddle or short coached taster. The 2026/27 form lists GBP 155 adult, GBP 210 family and GBP 90 junior membership. Confirm availability before attending.
Junior paddlers: Members range from age 11 to over 70. Under-18 applications need a parent or guardian signature. The junior policy makes families responsible for collection and transport and explains the mixed-age changing rooms.
Equipment: The club has a selection of kayaks and safety equipment. Members may use club equipment at designated sessions. Keyholders can use a club boat when the river is safe, while off-site use needs committee permission. Boat storage is charged separately.
Accessibility: Hereford Kayak Club states that it is committed to inclusion. Hereford Rowing Club provides changing and social rooms. None of the checked material explains wheelchair routes, accessible washing space, help transferring to a boat or suitable specialist craft.
