Before you join
- Adult beginners
New paddlers can request a Taster Session through MemberMojo. The first session is free, although pool admission still applies. The latest displayed fees are for 2025/26, so check the amount with the club before paying.
- Junior paddlers
The published junior membership is for ages 12 to 17. The site does not say whether an adult has to stay or give a separate weekly junior timetable. Ask the club before requesting a taster.
- Equipment
Members can use a fleet of river, sea and crossover kayaks, open canoes and associated paddling kit. The site gives no live inventory and does not reserve a particular craft for a taster, so check first.
- Accessibility
The club publishes safeguarding, equality and operating documents but gives no practical access details for its pool or changing open-water venues. Ask how it handles step-free arrival, changing, transfers and appropriate equipment.
- Where the club paddles
Tuesday sessions normally move to open water from May to September and use Helensburgh Pool in winter. A May 2026 update says the pool had been unavailable during the previous winter. Open-water venues and trip starts vary, so no fixed arrival marker is shown.
