Hastings Paddle Sports Club
Volunteers run Hastings Paddle Sports Club from its beach base for sea kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding. Its 2026 programme includes booked beginner sea sessions, winter pool practice and trips for different abilities.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
Beginners can book an introductory course or a visitor session. The club allows up to six visitor sessions, charges £10 for a sea or pool visit and requires advance booking. Its February 2026 four-week course is full, so use the current calendar or contact page before attending.
- Junior paddlers
The 2026 fees list junior membership for under-16s and student membership for ages 16 to 24. Under-18s on the closed beginner course needed a non-paddling parent or guardian. If a junior has no senior-member parent or guardian, one adult must join as a social member.
- Equipment
The club has boats, paddles, buoyancy aids and helmets for visitors and club nights, subject to limited stock. Regular paddlers are expected to buy their own kit. Members pay an extra £2 for pool-session boat hire.
- Accessibility
The clubhouse has separate changing rooms, a shower, heating and toilets. No checked source confirms a step-free route, wheelchair-ready changing space, help transferring into a craft or adapted boats. Discuss any support you need before making a booking.
- Where the club paddles
Sea sessions leave from the clubhouse behind the beach huts, reached from Cinque Ports Way. Pool sessions use Battle Abbey School Swimming Pool. The current events and OpenStreetMap agree on TN40 2JG, while a closed course page gives a different postcode.
