Before you join
- Adult beginners
The club accepts adult members. Most beginners join through its two-day Hampton Paddler course. Experienced paddlers can request a K1 assessment. The published 2026 course dates have passed, so watch the joining page for the next opening.
- Junior paddlers
Membership and beginner courses are adult-focused. Children may paddle only with a parent or guardian who meets the club's stated paddling standard. That adult keeps full responsibility throughout the session.
- Equipment
The course price covers a boat and safety kit. Club members may use the shared fleet when available and within its rules. A member needs the stated training or qualification before taking a stand up paddleboard.
- Accessibility
Equality commitments appear on the website. Practical information for disabled paddlers is absent: routes into the clubhouse, help entering a boat and specialist equipment are all unconfirmed. Tell the membership team what you need before applying or visiting.
- Where the club paddles
Wednesday evening paddles run from Bell Hill while daylight permits from April. Saturday activity continues year-round, with local and away trips. New members must complete at least three improver sessions before joining wider club paddling.
