Before you join

Adult beginners

New paddlers must arrange a taster by email rather than arrive without an appointment. The club says instructors lead the session and all required kit is available. Its published event dates are from 2025, so confirm current availability first.

Junior paddlers

Under-14s must have a parent or guardian at every trip or activity. At a fixed venue, that adult may stay ashore but must remain on site. Older under-18s need parental consent when attending without their parent.

Equipment

The club says taster equipment is supplied. Members may borrow club equipment after recording it with the club and remain responsible for its return. Availability, sizing and the kit offered on each trip are not published.

Accessibility

The national directory lists accessible facilities. The club rules also say reasonable efforts are made to accommodate disability at non-member events. No current step-free route, transfer support or adapted-craft detail is published, so ask before booking.

Where the club paddles

Spring and summer sessions use Carlton Lodge lake, usually every other Thursday. Autumn and winter practice uses Catterick pool. The current website does not provide a confirmed 2026 schedule, and both venues should be visited only for an arranged session.
