Before you join

Adult beginners

This is a youth club rather than a published adult-membership route. Its main season runs on Thursday evenings from soon after the clocks change in spring until the final Thursday in September. Confirm the current start time before travelling because the reviewed sources differ.

Junior paddlers

The current national directory says the club is for ages 11 and over, while the council's April 2024 page says 10 and over. Parents need the club to settle the current lower age limit and confirm a first-session place.

Equipment

The national directory records equipment storage but does not confirm whether newcomers can borrow a craft, personal flotation equipment, a paddle or wet-weather clothing. Ask what a child needs to bring before joining the group.

Accessibility

Paddle UK's listing marks sessions as accessible for disabled paddlers, without explaining the route into The Barn, changing arrangements, bank transfers or adapted boats. Contact the group about the precise help required.

Where the club paddles

Outdoor sessions use The Barn at Godalming Wharf in the retail area off Woolsack Way. The national directory also describes roughly monthly pool practice out of season but does not name the pool, so only the wharf area is mapped.
