Before you join
- Adult beginners
The current membership page covers adults, students and casual paddlers. Training is normally held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings plus Sunday mornings, but race days can close the club to general paddling. Ask the club to confirm a suitable first session.
- Junior paddlers
Junior membership starts at age eight. Anyone under 16 must join alongside an adult member. The racing programme groups younger paddlers by age and ability, so families should ask which session is suitable.
- Equipment
Members can use club equipment for up to 18 months or until reaching Division 6, after which the club expects them to buy their own boat. A separate annual charge applies to members using club equipment, and availability still needs checking.
- Accessibility
The national directory lists Paddleability and accessible facilities. The official club pages give no detail about gradients, assisted launching or specialised boats, so individual requirements should be discussed before attending.
- Where the club paddles
The club trains from its Croft Lane clubhouse. Its published calendar warns that Sunday access changes during the racing season, so the building marker is orientation rather than an instruction to arrive without confirmation.
