Frome Canoe Club
Frome Canoe Club organises paddling throughout the year at Market Yard beside the River Frome. Members use kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for general sessions, slalom, polo, trips and whitewater development.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
Experienced paddlers can self-certify their ability when applying. Complete beginners take a Discover course, and anyone not yet able to paddle independently may be asked to complete one before attending further club sessions.
- Junior paddlers
The current club page welcomes paddlers from age 10. Competent paddlers aged 16 or older use the Tuesday group, while Wednesday is the under-18 session. Course places and dates should be checked before joining.
- Equipment
Membership includes club boats from several disciplines and personal safety equipment, so purchasing personal kit is not a prerequisite. Paddlers should still check what clothing to bring and whether a specific craft is available.
- Accessibility
The clubhouse publishes accessible access plus an accessible toilet and shower. The club invites people to discuss specific needs. No full route to the water or adaptive-craft inventory is available.
- Where the club paddles
Weekly activity uses Market Yard in central Frome, with other events at Rode and external whitewater venues. The map marks the clubhouse only, so follow Spond for the venue and level required for each activity.
