Exmoor Canoe Club
Exmoor Canoe Club is a volunteer-led group for new and experienced paddlers across West Somerset and Mid Devon. Its year-round programme combines lake coaching, pool practice, river trips, sea kayaking and member paddles.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
Adults can enquire about a taster or join through the current membership form. Summer lake evenings mix coached blocks with self-led paddles, while trips use separate ability and booking information.
- Junior paddlers
Junior membership and coached sessions are available. Summer lake coaching starts from age eight, with places sometimes wait-listed. Winter pool sessions run separately for juniors, while advanced moving-water activity is by agreement.
- Equipment
Members can use club kayaks, canoes, SUPs and safety kit on organised activity. Boats, paddles, spray decks and buoyancy aids can also be arranged for some trips or hired for personal use, with charges handled through the club.
- Accessibility
Paddleability activity and parking appear on the national listing. No published club guide covers step-free access, launch assistance or adapted equipment, so make contact before choosing a session.
- Where the club paddles
Most Wednesday evenings rotate by season between Wimbleball Lake, an autumn play wave and the Butlin's pool in Minehead. Monthly coached paddles and other river or sea trips use changing locations.
