Edge Progressive Paddling
Edge Progressive Paddling is a volunteer-run West London club for adults learning or developing canoe and kayak skills. Summer sessions use the Thames and canal, while winter practice moves to a Brentford pool.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
Membership is for adults aged 18 or over. Newcomers of any ability book a paid taster through Meetup, and that fee is deducted from membership if they join. Members use the Facebook group for regular paddles and trips.
- Junior paddlers
Under-18s cannot join as members. Some pool or canal sessions may accept a young paddler who is accompanied by a member, but this depends on the coach and must be confirmed before booking.
- Equipment
For club sessions Edge can usually provide canoes or kayaks, paddles, helmets, buoyancy aids and splash cags. Spray decks are limited. Paddlers bring closed-toe footwear, suitable wet clothing and a dry change.
- Accessibility
None of the current club pages explains physical access or adapted kit at its bases. Contact the membership team about the exact session, assistance and changing arrangements before booking.
- Where the club paddles
Wednesday summer club nights leave from Unit 5 under Kew Bridge. Beginner coaching also uses Brentford Finger Dock. Thursday winter pool sessions use Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre. Check the live event because capacity and meeting instructions vary.
