Before you join

Adult beginners

New paddlers first send the safeguarding enquiry form, then may be invited to three Friday club nights before joining. Summer sessions run at Strathclyde Loch and winter sessions move indoors. Existing members take priority when places are limited.

Junior paddlers

The current joining notice says the club cannot accept new members under 12 because coaching support is limited. The same page still carries older membership options starting at age eight. Families should ask which rule applies before submitting an enquiry.

Equipment

Members can borrow boats and most paddling kit while getting started. The club says visitors still need their own footwear and wetsuit. Equipment use is arranged through the club rather than offered as public hire.

Accessibility

The national listing mentions disability paddling and PaddleAbility. It does not explain the support available at a specific session. The council currently reports restricted access and major refurbishment at the watersports centre, so contact the club before travelling.

Where the club paddles

Summer Friday sessions use Strathclyde Loch, where the club describes a compound beside the main buildings. Winter sessions use Hamilton Water Palace. Other river, loch and coastal trips have their own meeting points.
