East Sutherland Canoe Club is a recreational club based at Golspie's Seafront Centre. Its year-round programme covers summer coaching, winter pool practice and trips on Highland rivers, lochs and coast.

Before you join

Adult beginners: Summer club nights normally run on Tuesdays at the Seafront Centre, with paddlers usually on the water by 18:45. The club asks visitors to message first. Winter pool practice and outdoor journeys use several Highland locations.
Junior paddlers: Under-18s must have a guardian with them throughout every club activity, including while paddling. No minimum age is stated. Swimming ability is helpful rather than mandatory during coached activity when the participant remains calm in water and can follow instructions.
Equipment: Members can arrange kayaks, canoes and specialist craft alongside helmets, buoyancy aids and paddles. Loan wetsuits come in several sizes but depend on availability. None of this equipment is offered as public hire.
Accessibility: The national directory records disabled facilities, but the club gives no practical access details for the clubhouse, changing spaces or craft. Ask how the planned session can support individual needs.
Where the club paddles: The clubhouse is the Seafront Centre on Church Street, beside Golspie harbour. Summer club nights start there. Winter pool sessions and club trips take place elsewhere, so members should follow the venue given for each activity.
