Before you join

Adult beginners: The coached river block normally begins in May and runs for ten weeks on Wednesdays or Thursdays. The 2026 programme resumed on 7 May with a Paddle UK Discover course. The club also arranges open evenings, trips and winter pool lessons. Arrange a place before attending.
Junior paddlers: Children can use the club's smaller canoes and kayaks. Adult, junior and family memberships are offered, and family membership is required for any member aged eight or younger. Supervision can vary between activities. Parents and carers need the club to confirm the right session.
Equipment: The club has canoes and kayaks for adults and children. It also supplies helmets, buoyancy aids and paddles. Members may bring their own equipment, but should first check that it suits the planned river, pool or away session.
