Dartmouth Yacht Club Paddlesports Section
Dartmouth Yacht Club's paddlesports section gives members access to sit-on-top kayaks, sea kayaks, general-purpose boats and SUPs. Its River Dart programme includes inductions, led summer paddles and winter pool sessions.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
The organised paddling season runs from late April to September, with qualified leaders on club paddles. Peer paddles may continue through winter when conditions allow. Sea kayak users complete an induction before joining led outings.
- Junior paddlers
Family membership includes parents and children at the same address, and junior membership covers under-18s with parental permission. The reviewed pages do not state a paddlesport minimum age or the supervision required for each craft.
- Equipment
The published fleet includes 14 single and six double sit-on-tops, 11 sea kayaks, 10 general-purpose kayaks and six SUPs. Registration, inductions or a short course apply according to the craft.
- Accessibility
No public guide covers wheelchair access at the clubhouse or boat park, changing spaces, transfers or adapted boats. Ask the paddlesports team what support is available at the planned session.
- Where the club paddles
The clubhouse is at 22 South Embankment. Sit-on-tops and sea kayaks are stored at Coronation Park, with a nearby Higher Ferry slipway mentioned for sit-on-top use. Coastal and whitewater trips can start elsewhere.
