Craignish Boat Club

Craignish Boat Club gives local children, families and adults access to kayaking, canoeing, sailing and rowing on Loch Craignish. Its 2026 programme includes cadet coaching, adult tuition and condition-dependent group trips.

Before you join

Adult beginners: Adult kayaking tuition and trips are available to members. The 2026 kayaking blocks run from late April to late June and from mid-August to late September, with longer Saturday groups when leaders, weather and suitable boats allow. Current membership is required except for advertised taster sessions.
Junior paddlers: Kayaking Cadets is open from Primary 4 through Secondary 6. The 2026 programme places cadet beginners and improvers in Wednesday sessions, subject to confirmed times, weather, instructors and boats. Parents should contact the kayaking team before applying or relying on a published date.
Equipment: Club paddlesport equipment includes kayaks, open canoes and sit-on-top kayaks. It can be used only during designated club events, apart from approved instructor development. The club does not publish a full list of paddles, buoyancy aids, clothing or sizes, so ask what each participant must bring.
Accessibility: The private site has limited parking, a locked member gate and a causeway that must remain clear for emergency and disabled access. Current information gives no confirmed details about level routes, suitable changing or toilets, assisted water entry, specialist craft or hands-on support. Discuss the complete requirement before joining an event.
Where the club paddles: Club paddlesports operate from the leased site on Eilean Traighte beside Loch Craignish. Access is for organised club activity and members must stay within the leased boat park, slipway and foreshore area. Weather, leaders and boat availability control every kayaking session and longer trip.
