Adult beginners

A current Facebook update advertises free Thursday kayak expeditions between 6.30pm and 8pm at The Boat Inn meeting area. The national listing also describes come-and-try sessions for complete beginners and experienced paddlers. Check Facebook before attending because dates and capacity can change.

Junior paddlers

The national listing says the hub accepts paddlers across the age range and hosts schools, scouts and youth groups. It does not publish a minimum age, swimming test, parent supervision rule or open junior timetable. Families and group leaders should confirm the correct booking route and safeguarding arrangements first.

Equipment

The reviewed sources describe instructor-led sessions and current kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding activity, but they do not give a dependable item-by-item kit list. Ask whether boats and paddles, safety equipment such as buoyancy aids and helmets, and suitable clothing or footwear are supplied for the session.

Parking appears in the national listing. No reviewed source confirms a step-free route, accessible changing or toilets, water-transfer support, adapted craft or one-to-one help at the current Boat Inn meeting area. Contact the trust with each requirement before booking.

Where the club paddles

The paddlesport hub is described as being beside The Boat Inn, close to Minworth and Castle Vale. Current Thursday expeditions meet in the pub car park, while other community activity may use different arrangements. Follow the latest Facebook instructions rather than treating the marker as a standing launch point.
