Before you join

Adult beginners

Non-members may book up to two paid visitor sessions before joining. The current visitor price is £10, while members pay £5 per session. Annual youth, young-person and adult membership is £30, and family membership is £80. Prices and available dates should be checked before payment.

Junior paddlers

There is no strict published minimum age, but paddlers must be water-confident and able to swim in a buoyancy aid. The taster page requires an adult to stay on-site for children under 15, while general guidance says under 16. Families should follow the stricter rule and confirm it when booking.

Equipment

Visitors receive their chosen craft and paddle. The package also includes a buoyancy aid, helmet and splash jacket. Membership covers club kit during sessions, with low-cost hire for official trips. Craft and clothing still depend on size and availability.

Accessibility

The club describes wheelchair access to the venue and boats intended for varied needs. About 15 parking spaces, a nearby bus stop, changing rooms, hot showers and toilets are published. Water transfer, adapted-craft specifications and personal assistance still need advance discussion.

Where the club paddles

The private 2,500-square-metre lake lies off Sawley Road near Chatburn. Booked Saturday sessions separate kayak, canoe and paddleboard activity, while Wednesdays include adult open practice. Winter kayak sessions move to Ribblesdale Pool and trips use rivers, lakes and the coast.
