Before you join

Adult beginners: From April to October, most Thursday club nights start from the storage building beside the Teesside White Water Course. A first session must be booked by email. The current charge is £10 with equipment or £5 with suitable personal kit. Ask for the next available date before travelling.
Junior paddlers: The current national listing says sessions are for people aged 16 and over. Stockton's directory, last modified in June 2026, says the club accepts ages 10 and over. Because those current sources conflict, families should confirm eligibility and supervision directly before booking.
Equipment: The official session page says the £10 charge includes equipment hire, and the national listing describes a current equipment fleet. Neither source itemises the boat, paddle, buoyancy aid, helmet or clothing supplied for a particular paddler. Confirm every required item when booking.
Accessibility: The national listing records parking and equipment storage but no accessible facility. Public information stops there. Ask the membership coordinator about step-free arrival, changing, toilets, water transfer, adapted craft and personal help before arranging a first session.
