Before a pupil takes part

Adult beginners

This is a Claires Court pupil programme, not a public adult club. The reviewed pages offer no visitor session, adult membership or paid taster. Adults outside the programme should contact Claires Court through its usual enquiry route and must not turn up at the river base.

Junior paddlers

The official paddling page says senior pupils can choose paddling in Games lessons. The school sports page says senior boys can paddle throughout the year. Places, age groups and session dates are controlled by the school and are not offered as public bookings.

Equipment

The school keeps canoes and kayaks for pupil training through the Paddle Start, Discover and Explore Awards. It does not list the clothing or safety kit supplied to each student, and those craft are not advertised for public hire.

Accessibility

No reviewed page explains step-free arrival, changing, toilets, parking, boarding help, adapted craft or individual support at the school river base. Families need to explain every access requirement to staff before a pupil opts into paddling.

Where the club paddles

The school places its Boulters Lock base on the Thames near the senior boys campus. Other school watersports use Summerleaze Lake and Maidenhead Sailing Club. The river base is school-controlled, so staff instructions determine access and the meeting point.
