Before you join

Adult beginners

The club welcomes beginners and experienced paddlers. Current Facebook updates show sessions continuing in 2026, but no reviewed source publishes a current membership price, fixed taster format or permanent weekly timetable. Message the page before setting out.

Junior paddlers

The national directory calls this a family-friendly club. It gives no lower age, required swimming ability, supervision arrangement or separate route for young members. Families should share each child's age and experience when asking about a suitable outing.

Equipment

Storage space for club equipment appears in the national listing. It does not say visitors can borrow a canoe, kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid, helmet or clothing. Ask what can be supplied for the exact outing, and do not assume the country park hires paddling kit.

Accessibility

The council says parts of Gartmorn Dam Country Park are accessible and that parking is free. Club-specific information ends there. Ask about the route from parking to water, boarding support, suitable boats and any practical assistance before arranging a visit.

Where the club paddles

Gartmorn Dam is the published base. The club also arranges local outings and trips farther afield. A 2025 club notice used the Sunken Gardens for a Wednesday evening session, but future venues and times can change. Follow the latest Facebook post rather than relying on an old timetable.
