Before you join

Adult beginners

The national club listing includes beginner sessions, social paddles, trips, qualifications and river clean-ups. Current Facebook posts show river and pool activity continuing in 2026. No current fee or fixed trial format is published, so contact the club before attending.

Junior paddlers

Junior and family sessions are listed. No source gives an age threshold or says how confidently a child must swim. Supervision expectations are also absent. A parent or guardian should describe the young paddler and ask what must be arranged.

Equipment

Boat storage appears among the clubhouse facilities. That entry is not a loan offer, and it does not confirm that visitors may borrow a canoe, kayak, paddleboard, paddle, buoyancy aid or clothing. Ask exactly what the chosen activity supplies.

Accessibility

The directory lists accessible sessions and facilities, plus parking, changing rooms, showers and toilets. Nothing reviewed tells a wheelchair user how to reach the water. Details for boarding help, specialist boats and one-to-one support are also missing. Describe every access requirement when contacting the club.

Where the club paddles

The published base is at Long Close beside the River Avon. Current club activity also includes pool sessions, so the clubhouse is not the meeting place for every event. The club says its constitution no longer includes sailing and that a new name will follow. Use the current Facebook instructions while its website is being rebuilt.
