Chiltern Canoe Club

Chiltern Canoe Club runs canoe, kayak and paddleboard activities around Tring and farther afield. Members paddle on canals, reservoirs, rivers and the sea, with junior coaching, pool practice and canoe polo in the programme.

Before you join

Adult beginners: Membermojo currently lists adult membership at £20 and family membership at £40. Adults who are not Paddle UK members pay another £2.50 each. The programme includes social canal paddles, reservoir sessions, trips, qualifications, polo and pool practice. Check the joining page because fees and sessions can change.
Junior paddlers: Junior membership is currently listed at £15. The club says coaching can start from about age 9, depending on a child's size and strength. That is guidance rather than a guaranteed place. Families should ask which Saturday, pool or outdoor session is suitable and what supervision is required.
Equipment: Membermojo says club members may try and borrow its growing range of kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. It does not promise every size or craft at every session. Confirm availability, transport and any charge before relying on club equipment.
Accessibility: The reviewed homepage and membership service do not explain step-free access, parking, changing or toilet facilities, water transfers, adapted craft or personal help at the club's changing venues. Explain the complete access need before choosing a pool, canal, reservoir or trip session.
Where the club paddles: Saturday sessions use Tring pool and, for many adult paddles, the canal at Bulbourne. The club also visits reservoirs, rivers, whitewater and the sea. Several pages on the main website currently return 404, so use Membermojo or Facebook for the live session and meeting instructions.
