Before you join

Adult beginners

An experienced paddler starts with a £10 assessment. A newcomer can book an introductory session for £28.50 with equipment or £21 with their own kit. The club then offers two free club paddles before membership. These published prices can change, so check WebCollect before paying.

Junior paddlers

Children aged 8 to 18 can join a responsible adult, who must stay with them both on and off the water. The club does not present itself as a youth drop-off session. Families should complete the appropriate introduction and confirm that the venue, craft and conditions suit the child.

Equipment

Introductory sessions can include a kayak, paddle and buoyancy aid. Kayak or paddleboard packages may also be hired for other club paddles. Hire is not available at every venue or session, including some winter canal paddles, so reserve equipment through the club rather than assuming it will be there.

Accessibility

Dell Quay members can use showers, toilets, changing rooms and £1-return lockers. Hunston has little changing space and no facilities. The reviewed pages do not cover step-free routes, water transfers, adapted craft or personal support, so confirm access for the exact venue and session.

Where the club paddles

Summer Wednesdays normally meet at Hunston on Chichester Canal. Friday venues alternate between Hunston and Dell Quay according to the tide and programme. Winter sessions use Havant Leisure Centre's pool, with some canal paddles continuing separately. Read the live calendar before travelling.
