Bromley Canoe Club

Bromley Canoe Club is an adult and youth club based at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre. Monday pool sessions help paddlers build skills, while coached training and club trips cover flatwater, whitewater and sea kayaking.

Before you join

Adult beginners: New paddlers register on JustGo, link to the club and book an induction. The membership page offers up to four taster sessions within four weeks and currently lists £8 per taster session or £6 for members. Its What We Get Up To page still shows £7 and £5, so confirm the session charge before paying.
Junior paddlers: The club accepts paddlers from age 8. A parent or guardian handles registration for anyone under 18. The current timetable reserves 8pm to 9pm for under-16s and parent paddlers, with ages 16 and over using 9pm to 10pm. Everyone completes the swim and capsize checks.
Equipment: For organised trips, members may use club craft alongside flotation, paddles, spray decks and helmets. The membership page lists wear charges of £5 for one day, £10 for a weekend or £25 for a week. Availability depends on the planned activity.
Accessibility: Published material does not describe barrier-free routes at either venue. It also gives no details of changing facilities for disabled users, modified boats, transfer aids or dedicated personal help. Contact the membership lead before booking.
Where the club paddles: Monday sessions run from 8pm to 10pm at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, excluding bank holidays. Summer Friday sessions may use Chipstead Lake, but only during club-organised events. The club also arranges flatwater, coastal and whitewater trips, so each booking controls the meeting point.
