Before you join

Adult beginners

Up to four Wednesday tasters cost £10 each and are deducted if the paddler joins. The current portal lists adult membership from £40, with separate equipment-hire and non-governing-body-member options. Applications need approval and renew on 31 March.

Junior paddlers

Junior tasters cost £5. Student and under-18 membership is listed at £25, or £55 with equipment hire. No reviewed page gives a minimum age or universal supervision rule, so families should check before attending.

Equipment

Wednesday sessions can supply kayaks, canoes, two stand-up paddleboards, paddles, buoyancy aids and helmets. Members can choose fees that include equipment use on club nights and trips. Bring clothes and shoes that can get wet, plus a dry change.

Accessibility

The host rugby club describes its venue as fully accessible with ample parking. Paddle UK's directory lists changing facilities, equipment storage, parking and toilets. Neither source confirms accessible water entry or adapted craft, so discuss river access in advance.

Where the club paddles

The 2026 River Severn season runs on Wednesdays from 22 April through September. Members meet at 6pm, aim to launch at 6:30pm and finish by 8:30pm. Year-round trips use other rivers in England and Wales.
