Brecon Canoe Club
Brecon Canoe Club is a Welsh charity for recreational and competitive paddlers. Its programme covers beginners, family and junior paddling, pool training, canoe polo and whitewater trips, with current bookings managed through the club website.

Before you join
- Adult beginners
Adults register online and choose individual or family membership. The current plans start at £50 for a principal adult and £25 for a second adult in the same family. Most plans show a trial period, and members must also hold membership with Canoe Wales or another UK paddling governing body.
- Junior paddlers
There are junior plans for under-16s and student plans for ages 16 to 18 or full-time students up to 25. A parent or guardian completes the form for anyone under 18, including health and emergency details.
- Equipment
The club has kayaks, paddles, buoyancy aids, helmets, spray decks and cagoules. Kit is available at club events; trip hire is normally £10 per day for a kayak plus equipment. Canoe-polo kit may be loaned between sessions.
- Accessibility
Brecon Leisure Centre publishes slope access, automatic entrance doors, a lift, a pool hoist, accessible changing and showers, four accessible toilets and five disabled parking bays. The club directory also lists disability paddling, but book with the club to confirm activity support.
- Where the club paddles
Advertised pool blocks take place at Brecon Leisure Centre. A three-week general-training block is listed from Monday 28 September 2026, with sessions from 7:30pm to 9:15pm. River trips and polo tournaments use other venues, so the live events page controls each date and meeting point.
