Before you join

Adult beginners

Prospective members start with pool tasters or a five-session course. An experienced paddler still attends a pool taster for safety and competence checks. Membership applications need committee approval, so contact the club rather than arriving as an independent member.

Junior paddlers

Under-18s cannot join independently. A parent or guardian must be a member, take part and supervise at pool sessions or suitable outdoor paddles. The club warns that not every outdoor activity is suitable for children.

Equipment

Pool boats and kit are included for beginners and tasters. Members may hire a club boat for an outdoor trip after arranging its collection and return. The club cannot store members' personal boats or equipment.

Accessibility

Witham Leisure Centre has a Pool Pod for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. The club does not publish its own adapted craft or assistance arrangements, so contact it before booking a taster.

Where the club paddles

Pool sessions normally run on Mondays from 7:45pm to 9:15pm, excluding public holidays. Outdoor trips use sea, rivers, canals and whitewater venues in Essex and farther afield. The current calendar or member invitation controls each meeting point.
