Before you join

Adult beginners

Beginners and experienced paddlers can attend the club's weekly sessions. Everyone taking part must create an account and hold at least the free non-member level before paddling; session charges can still apply. The current event calendar gives the date, venue, price and booking details.

Junior paddlers

The club and national directory welcome individuals and families from age eight. Youth and family membership options are available, but that age does not make every event suitable. Families should check the event's suitability and ask about supervision before booking.

Equipment

The club has a broad fleet of kayaks, open canoes, paddleboards and safety equipment for organised activities. Not every venue stores equipment, so check the event details. Paid members may borrow equipment for trips and, with committee approval, for personal use.

Accessibility

Aldershot Lido lists accessible parking, ramped entry, accessible gates, toilets and lockers, plus a hearing loop and pool steps with handrails. The club does not confirm adapted boats, assisted transfer or equivalent access at Yateley and canal sessions. Ask about the exact venue before booking.

Where the club paddles

The club normally uses Aldershot Lido in summer, Yateley Manor's indoor pool in winter and the Basingstoke Canal in spring and autumn. Its current 2026 canal events use Farnborough Wharf. Times and venues can change, so use the live event calendar rather than the typical seasonal pattern alone.
